Nashville, Tenn. (Jul. 20, 2018) – Comedian and internet sensation John Crist has announced “The Human Being” Tour, in partnership with Premier Productions. Kicking off this September, the coast-to-coast tour will visit Dallas, Los Angeles, Tampa, Colorado Springs and more, hitting over 40 markets throughout the U.S. This is the follow-up to Crist’s completely sold out “Captive Thoughts” Tour from Fall 2017. Each night will include opener Dustin Nickerson or Mike Goodwin, as well as a special guest from Crist’s videos (varies by tour date). Known for his videos like “Millennial International,” “Lady Who Has a Bible Verse for Every Situation,” or “Road Rage in the Church Parking Lot,” Crist will be integrating these characters with his stand-up comedy for the very first time.

NEWS:Kirk Franklin’s Troubled Sister Sentenced to Prison for 30 Years After Serving 10-Year Drug Sentence

Gospel music star Kirk Franklin revealed on Sunday that his troubled younger sister, who previously served 10 years in prison on a drug related conviction, was recently sentenced to serve another 30 years in prison for an unspecified charge.

“My sister was just sentenced to 30 years in prison…I now feel the weight of wondering if I could have done more,” Franklin said in a statement Sunday to which he added “rough week.”

There is not much information available on Franklin’s unidentified sister. However, the gospel star previously shared in 2015 that she struggled with drug addiction.

“For over ten years, my younger sister was incarcerated in a facility here in Texas. She was in love with a young man who was [a] drug dealer,” Franklin explained at the time. “He introduced her to not only selling drugs, but using as well. When he was arrested for drug trafficking, she was arrested along with him. After she served her time, she was brought before the review board who determined she was ready to be released and brought back into society. The documents were signed and she was set free… but only on paper.”

A few months after she was released from prison, Franklin said his sister relapsed.

“After a few months back into the free world, it became obvious to me rather quickly that my sister was still in prison. It’s what they call being institutionalized. She quickly started using again, becoming very reckless with her body, which turned into her using it as a means to pay for her habit,” he explained.

Two Fridays ago on June 8, the day Anthony Bourdain, host of CNN’s award-winning series “Parts Unknown,” was confirmed dead in an apparent suicide, and just days after another high-profile suicide involving iconic fashion designer Kate Spade, Franklin hinted at his own family’s struggle with mental health.

“We’ve had two individuals, high profile people that committed suicide this week, in one week. And even though I didn’t know them that can be very traumatic and I wanted to be very honest with you to maybe help someone. I personally know what it is to have a family member with either issues with depression or mental illness and we’re still going through it as a family,” he said before urging his fans to “Get help.”

He further noted that the church should not discount the need for a professional to deal with mental health struggles.

“In the church sometimes you think you can just shout everything away or speak in tongues everything away or sometimes drink and smoke everything away but you can’t. This is real. It’s a disease. And you’ve got to treat it like a disease. God is faithful but faith without works is dead, so you’ve gotta put in the work. You’re too important. You’re too valuable. We need you,” he said.

In a sentimental Instagram post, Gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard tributes her late father, Bishop Fritz Cobbs, in a simple, but touching post.

 “Like it was yesterday…” she wrote, only adding, “Miss you daddy.”

Bishop Cobbs transitioned to his Heavenly home on the heels of his daughter’s exciting triple win at the 2014 Stellar Awards—something she said drew her closer to the Lord. She is now telling others who may be struggling with hurt and difficult situations to lean on God.

“I would tell anyone who is in a low place, run to Him because sometimes people don’t have the words to encourage you. But there’s a peace that you’ll find in the presence of God that you’ll find nowhere else,” Cobbs Leonard told Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts.

She sat down for a chat recently with Roberts on “Dressing Room Reveal” about her new album, Heart. Passion. Pursuit, and also performed a gospel medley.

Days after fans photographed them holding hands while walking in New York City, pop star Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were seen at a worship service at Pastor Judah Smith’s church in Washington state on Sunday.

The rumored couple attended a service at Churchome in the town of Kirkland, according to the People magazine, which learned about their church visit through pictures on social media.

The magazine says the two jumped into a public hot tub at their local hotel after the service, as Twitter user Jaycie Roth, posted a picture and wrote, “My dad was hot-tubbing with Justin Bieber & Hailey Baldwin this weekend and had no clue until he came home and showed me his pictures…”

Last week, fans posted a picture of Bieber and Baldwin holding hands while walking on a street in New York.

At the church on Sunday, Smith preached about regaining focus when the ups and downs of life cause a Christian to lose perspective.

Perspective, he explained, is “the ability to put things in their proper place.” Sometimes things that are small become so dominant in our lives that we get “fixated” on them and they literally determine our emotions and even our view of God.

In an earlier interview with The Christian Post, Smith said he feels like “I have learned more from Justin Bieber than he could ever have learned from me.”

“I have been allowed to love him and I feel like we are family. We talk almost every day. And I’ve learned that what does it profit a man to gain the whole world but in the process lose his soul?” he told CP. “That all of the trappings that our culture tells us you pursue, leaves us as lifeless as you could possibly imagine. What really matters in life, even when you have hundreds of millions and are one of the most famous people in the world, is relationship — with God and with each other, authentic relationship. And so I’ve never believed in community more, never believed in people more.

“And yes, it is unique when a celebrity or someone of renown comes to church. It’s like someone who is, if I can say it this way, is impaired in some way. You have to do some unique stuff to make sure that they get a fair shake at hearing the Gospel. And so you’ve got to be protective at times. But what they need is what they all need: love, grace, relationship.”

Bieber, who also attends Hillsong Church NYC, has been expressing his Christian faith publicly, namely on social media. In April, Bieber shared on Instagram his version of the Christian chart-topping worship song “Reckless Love.”
