Jekalyn Carr

“First, it was a great honor to be nominated alongside the other amazingly talented and well-deserving ladies,” Jekalyn says. “To win…it was an Absolute honor!! Receiving an award of this caliber, named after the legend herself, Ms. Albertina Walker, is a memory I will always cherish.  I did not expect it, therefore, I feel blessed to know how others perceive my ministry. As God continues to grace me to do so, I will continue to carry on that sound of ministry mixed with the traditional feeling that the church loves so much and deliver the evolving sound of today. I grew up on the traditional sound and I can remember how powerful and life-changing it was then. My heritage means a lot to me and I’m grateful to embrace it and to be one of the chosen ones carrying such a mantle.”

Allen Carr – proud father, label president and producer – comments:

Watching her grow from the beginning stages of her ministry and career, to where she is now, is amazing. This is and continues to be a great year of success for Jekalyn. Checkout Nathaniel Bassey’s Reply to Someone Who Called Him ‘The Most Anointed’ Will Shock You

Prominent Nigerian gospel minister and worship leader, Nathaniel replied someone who called him the “Most Anointed”.
Read below to see his reply;

Real Kemochy: Thank you for the word…I ask for abundant grace to fulfill purpose. @nathanielblow, the most anointed/spiritual gospel singer in the world. I give it to you sir.
Nathaniel Bassey: @realkemochy Shalom Sis. I see what you are trying to say, but you see, personally i don’t think there’s any thing like one being the most anointed. God has his people I around the world. I don’t even deceive myself to think I’m the most anointed. There isn’t a categorization like that in the kingdom. We all serve God in different capacities and really no place for comparison. God bless you my dear sister.

NEWS:Tasha Cobbs Leonard hits on WOE Magazine discusses Latest Issues

A dynamic powerhouse and multifaced trailblazer, Tasha Cobbs Leonard is not an amateur on the gospel music scene, but a stalwart. From winning a Grammy to being a 3 times Dove, 2 times Billboard and Stellar award winner, Tasha Cobbs Leonard has impacted lives through her latest project Heart, Passion, PursuitLive at Passion City Church.  While touring, Tasha has poured her heart out, flowing under God’s anointing through spontaneous worship during live performances singing some of our favorites hits (Break Every Chain, For Your Glory, Fill Me Up and much more) to fans from all over the world. The passion for this project is felt as she shares translucent heartfelt stories about her life, music, and ministry.
WOE Magazine had the pleasure to catch up with Tasha for a chat about her journey, latest project, purpose, and much more!
WM: Tell us a little bit about your musical journey
TCL: I grew up in a very musical family. My entire family would gather together on holidays or any given day to sing in harmonies.  We actually had no choice but to sing when we were younger (Inserts smile). My love for music and worship grew from those experiences with my family.
WM:  Heart, Passion, Pursuit Live is one of your latest projects. Why do you believe listeners, fans, and followers are connected to this project?
TCL: Heart, Passion, Pursuit Live is one of my favorite projects to date. I believe it connects with the listener because it shows a different, more intimate side of me.  I had the opportunity to share testimonies behind the songs. It was just a fun project!
WM: You are recognized as an international recording artist. How has your travel experience given you a different perspective about how Christians worship God?
TCL: It is such an honor to lead God’s people in worship.  It is one of the joys of my life. I am always inspired by the different expressions of worship around the world.  I’m often challenged and encouraged each time I have an opportunity to worship with my brothers and sisters in various nations who aren’t as “privileged” as many of us are in the USA.  Many times you will find that some have walked miles to make it to those encounters, many not knowing where their next meal will come from, but their worship and faith are so strong! It is always an eye-opening experience for me!

WM: Black women are constantly striving to fit into a “Perfect Image” painted by society from weight to hair textures, body adjustments and even changing skin tones. Tell us some of the challenges you faced in the industry to maintain a certain image.
TCL: I’ve honestly not experienced very many challenges in the industry as it pertains to image.  (Well, not that I know of lol). I do agree that having a “perfect image” is a pressure that we all face.  It isn’t always easy being a “fluffy” girl in this world, but I’ve found a confidence in my beauty that no man has the ability to take away.
WM: Why do you believe women have a hard time accepting some of their natural God-given attributes?
TCL: It is easy to get caught up in the expectations of the world as it pertains to image and looks. However, I believe there are many strong female leaders and women of influence taking a stand and letting the world know that it is ok to look different, express yourself differently and BE DIFFERENT!
WM: In today’s society, most artists are subjected to the negative opinions of followers on social media. Previously you received some backlash from some within the Christian community for collaborating with Nicki Minaj.  How do you handle negative criticism?
TCL: Social Media has given everyone a platform to express their opinions.  This is not always a bad thing! Negative comments and opinions that differ from ours are inevitable. As believers, if we are confident that God has given us instructions to do something that is groundbreaking or outside of the norm, DO IT! Obedience is better than sacrifice! Everyone won’t always agree with what you do, but God will always avenge us when we boldly do his will.  “We wrestle not against flesh and blood”…. We all have one common enemy.  His name is Satan! Fighting one another is what the enemy would desire for us to do… let’s do the opposite!
WM: Do you believe some of your purpose is to bridge the gap between various genres with the gospel community? If so, explain? Why is important for gospel artist to cross over to mainstream?
TCL: I am called to be a bridge.  Not just between music genres, but cultures, nationalities, races and all groups of people with differences.  It is important for everyone to complete their assignment and purpose in the earth, whatever that entails.
WM: You and your husband work and travel together. How do you balance being a wife and an artist?
TCL: It is my greatest joy to serve with and to serve my husband! He brings Peace! Lol Balancing the two roles are always a matter of being attentive to one another’s needs.

WM: You have mentioned the importance of accountability. Tell us why mentorship is very dear to your heart.

TCL: I believe it is important to have someone who covers you in prayer, hold you accountable and imparts into you with wisdom. One of my mentors always tells me that “No man is an island.”

He was a Pastor who honestly wanted nothing but the best for everyone. He would end each of our worship services by instructing the congregation to “Love Everybody.” My Father was a living, breathing, an example of God’s love in the earth! When people wear frames from the “Fritz Eyewear Collection” it is my desire that people are inspired to literally see things the way my Father, Fritz, saw them… through the lens of LOVE.”

Papa David Oyedepo Speaks – It’s Shameful Politicians Are Proud Of Rigged Elections

News: Papa David Oyedepo  Speaks – It’s Shameful Politicians Are Proud Of Rigged Elections

Founding Senior Pastor of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners’ Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has commented on the last presidential and National Assembly elections, which he said was marred with widespread rigging.
According to Vanguard, Oyedepo, speaking at the church headquarters in Ota, Ogun state on Sunday, said the election was marred with irregularities, but prayed that Nigeria will not experience another war as a result of the polls. He said:
“OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD HAD DEVELOPED THEIR MODE OF VOTING INTO A DIGITISED METHOD, BUT IT’S A SHAME THAT IN NIGERIA, WE STILL QUEUE UP TO VOTE, AND SOMEBODY WOULD STILL BE INTIMIDATED BY THUGS.
WITH THESE, IT’S A SHAME HOW POLITICIANS IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD ARE PROUD OF ELECTIONS MARRED WITH RIGGING.
IN COVENANT UNIVERSITY, ANY STUDENT CAUGHT INDULGING IN EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE, IS GONE. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF HIS OR HER FATHER IS THE HEAD OF UNITED NATIONS OR NOT.”
He prayed against bloodbath in any part of the country in the forthcoming governorship and house of assembly elections.

Congratulations to Nigerian-International Gospel music songtress SINACH for breaking the record of 100million views on youtube.

Political News: Plateau PDP Embraces Margaret Inusa a former Gubernatorial Candidate of the ADP

Political News: Plateau PDP Embraces Margaret Inusa a former Gubernatorial Candidate of the ADP

Plateau PDP Embraces Margaret Inusa a former Gubernatorial Candidate of the ADP
The Former gubernatorial candidate of the ADP, Pastor Margaret Inusa has formerly decamped to the PDP in Plateau State with just 3days to the gubernatorial elections.
Pastor Margaret led other party faithfuls of the ADP and all her supporters to the PDP in a grand occasion at the Plateau State PDP office on Wednesday 6th March, 2019. You will recall that Pastor Margaret was the ADP gubernatorial candidate until she was forced to step down for John Timlong in an unusual circumstance.

The PDP State Chairman, Dmishi Sango who was on hand to receive the team of decampees, described it as a boast to the party with just 3days to the Local Elections in the state and assured them that the party was open to all.
JT Usini, the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP was also present to welcome the decampees and assured all that he will run an all inclusive government and promised to run just for one tenure.
Pastor Margaret delivering her speech to pressmen and all present asserted that;
“A little over six months ago, the race for building the Plateau of our dreams began. It was with the sole aim of advancing us as a people. Reviewing the potential and resources we are blessed with as to where we are as a people made us resolute to achieve our newly found purpose.

And we started this journey with our minds and eyes open: accepting that the road ahead will be uncertain at times, but believing that it will lead us towards a brighter future not just for us now but for our children – and their children too.
I Margaret Inusa, take a stand right now with all our associates, allies and everyone in our network. We take a bold stand with the People’s Democratic Party. We embrace the PDP Mandate.
I want an emancipation of Plateau State from obscurity, to a stronger, better, safe and prosperous State. A home to the masterminds and innovators who will shape the world ahead.
I want the ambition, the dreams and potential of Plateau to be seen, felt and known. A great, global trading state that is respected around the world as strong, confident and united. That was the dream that informed the Plan for Plateau. One that ensures we come first as a state and as a people.
We as a people are not only bound by resources, opportunity and potential, we are bound by blood, tears, pain and struggle.
We are diverse in our pursuits but bound by one common goal -To prosper and flourish”
There was a show of warm reception where the chairman and the party’s  executives of Plateau State, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Dmishi Sango encouraged and welcomed the new decampees which includes ward heads, Councilors and youth leaders who are courageous to join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
She also reiterated that “they resented me that I was a woman. They taunted me that I was from the minority tribe and that I didn’t have the capacity or resources needed to make a difference. Over time every one of these enemies were disappointed as I emerged the Flag Bearer of the Action Democratic Party Plateau State and our network of men and women grew in capacity”
On her transit to the People’s Democratic Party “I am obliged with the vote of confidence from the party’s executives and the rest of the decampee with me a network who are over 100,000 supporters, allies and all who believe that we can and we will make a difference in our time in Plateau State, prompt us daily to seek out solutions to the menace we face in our society today” Pastor Margaret Inusa said.
She rounded off by clearing the air that she was not at any moment paid to drop her position as the gubernatorial candidate of the ADP but rather stepped down due to pressure and threat of withdrawing funds and support from the party executives. She was pained that after stating her conditions for stepping down, she was slighted for being a woman and no condition was met.
The party Chairman, Dmishi Sango presented the membership card for her and her supporters as they tore that of the ADC, she also received the flag of the PDP to welcome her into the party.
